About DHL Malaysia

In the late 1960s, a California law student called Larry Hillblom got a part job working as a courier for an insurance company. After graduating, he decided to start his own courier company and convinced two friends, Adrian Dalsey and Robert Lynn, to partner with him. Like its counterparts in 220 other countries, the Australian DSC “provides customized logistics and industry solutions in the areas of supply chain management, warehousing, distribution, value-added services, and lead logistics provider services”. DSC is now the global logistics leader and counts many of the world’s biggest companies as its customers. Deutsche Post DHL Group had revenues of €3.5 billion in 2016.

Training, Development & Rotations

When launching a recruitment drive, make as much use as you can of the job specifications that you already have on file. But do look carefully at the skill sets needed, and decide which are crucial and which are just ‘nice to have. DHL spent a lot of time looking at how to better meet the needs of the organization and embed development activities in the culture of recognition. So, DHL has been piloting a new program for the employees who work as supervisors in hubs. Handpicked supervisors from all over the world come together in one destination to learn about new ways to apply themselves in their work and leadership.

Career Progression

Whether you're looking to join as a graduate or start your journey earlier, DHL wants you to stay with DHL and grow with DHL, to keep learning and build a successful long-term career.

Fortunately, the scale and scope of business mean DHL can offer you all the support and opportunity you could ever wish for, together with a level of stability and security few other organizations can match.

Depending on where your talents and interests lie (and where in the world you are based, of course!), DHL is sure to have a graduate development program that's perfectly suited to you. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to jump straight into a regular, full-time job, DHL offers plenty of direct entry roles too.

Still in education and considering your options? There's a world of opportunities at DPDHL. Join DHL for an internship and you can gain valuable, real-world experience while you study for a degree

Work-Life Balance

DHL Express is an employee-centric organization that has policies designed to genuinely benefit all. Multiple employee engagement activities and unique events help in bonding and lighten the mood. Management has multiple training and development programs in place.

A healthy work-life balance is something DHL strives to achieve. After all, while work is important for self-esteem and gives DHL drive, purpose, and a reason to get up in the morning, it shouldn’t dominate and define every aspect of people's lives.

All progressive employers worth their salt have recognized this, and introduced flexible practices and better technology to allow their employees to work remotely, should they choose to do so. It has rated 3.8 stars for work-life balance. (from Glassdoor reviews)

Culture & Vibe

As a global business, DHL sees strength in diversity. Not just in terms of gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, or any other characteristic protected under the law. But all the differences that make unique individuals. That cultural diversity is perhaps most evident each year during Global Diversity & Inclusion Week when thousands of participants in every area of the business take time out to celebrate and share their culture with colleagues through internal social channels.
